You’re probably aware of the famous skater Tony Hawk (of Pro Skater fame) but you may not be aware of one of his contemporaries Rodney Mullen – the godfather and, arguably, the driving force behind the creation of modern skateboarding.

Whether you’re a keen skater or not we strongly recommend checking out his TED talk: ‘On Getting Up Again’ which we find to be remarkably insightful into creative drive and the importance/nature of resilience.

It’s worth watching the whole 18 minutes but if you’re time-poor you could start with two key sections: the nature of innovation at 5m 30s and creative drive at the 16m mark.
